Hollywood set dresser
Ryan Cassidy

Go behind the scenes with someone who actually sets the scene… meet Ryan Cassidy, the youngest of the famous Cassidy brothers who is now a sought-after Hollywood set dresser.
How do they turn a soundstage into a hospital emergency room? Why does that Chicago street (which is actually in Burbank, California) look so real? Every scene in our favorite movies and TV shows would be completely implausible without the creativity, eagle eye and attention to detail of a set dresser.
Ryan Cassidy takes a break from the set of ER to chat with Kathleen about his start in the business, what a typical day is like and why he loves it.
After an early acting career that lasted throughout the 80's, Ryan left show business to pursue other avenues. He finally settled into work in behind the scenes as a set dresser, where he is responsible for the placement of anything from furniture to pictures to decorative items. You can see his handywork in movies such as Semi Pro, Blades of Glory, Blow and ER.
